This flick called Decayed looks like it could easily fit in my "Zombie Ketchup" segment from the looks of the poster, however, no mention of zombies are in the synopsis which you can read here. 5 seperate stories of survival horror...mmm, looks tasty!
Lazarus Taxon looks really good. It's a post-apocalyptic short film about some survivors in a world where climate change has taken it's toll. here's the synopsis via quiet earth: The feared consequences of global warming are at their peak when one man crosses the New Sea trying to save his daughter from the clutches of death. A tale about going beyond the limits of the human race and survival of the species. And the trailer: Lazarus Taxon
Word on the street, is that Wright and Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) want to make a post-apocalyptic film called The World's End. Sounds good to me.
What is the "world wide event" in The Echo? Not much is known about this one and the trailer doesn't really give anything away except there looks to be some sort of sappy romance involved. Here's the synopsis and it doesn't help: Three intertwined stories linked by an inexplicable worldwide event. and the trailer:
The World Without Us is a book describing exactly what the title suggests. It's not an end of the world story as far as I can tell. However, Fox just purchased the rights to make the book into an apocalyptic film with an event that triggers the world without people. It's not really an adaptation then is it? In any event, I'm down.
The film Straw Man now has a trailer. It looks to be more of a character study than anything else and is likely to pull some heart strings. This guy looks to be going absolute bat shit insane. I probably would too if I were the last person on earth. the synopsis: Straw Man is the harrowing tale of one man, a lone soul in an empty world. To combat the loneliness of isolation he surrounds himself with people made out of straw, hand-crafted and moulded from faded memories of friends and family. They offer little in the way of company yet they hold insanity at bay. This Lone Man is a contradiction, his rambling thoughts battling against his need for structure and routine. In his quest for normality he spends each day teaching pupils, reading to them from the classics as they stare back at him with blank, featureless faces. But when the line between reality and fantasy is blurred by madness his ordered life is sent into a downward spiral.
Why do the straw people stare at him with blind judgement?
What are the children trying to tell him?
Who is the beautiful woman... ...and does she offer salvation? and the trailer:
Ferocious looks to be a wild ride. Here's the synopsis: In a post apocalyptic world ravaged by feuding warlords, a group of desperate soldiers hatch a plan to steal a Warlord’s treasure and start a new life. Faced with the threat of a horrific death at the hands of the Warlord’s executioners, the men escape into a desolate and forbidden land known only as the Shadowlands. Now the men must flee from the Warlord’s vicious assassins while defending themselves from the terrifying creatures that inhabit the Shadowlands. You can see pictures from the set here.
