Stop everything you're doing right now. Get in your favorite vehicle of choice or if you want...run, don't walk, to the nearest bookstore and pick up Cormac McCarthy's The Road. It's a pretty short read and will grab and pull on your heart strings.
The Road is basically about a father and a son who are living in a post apocalyptic world. Ash covers everything and cannibals threaten their survival. It's more about the relationship between the father and son. It's worth the read.
Anyway, as some of you know, The Road has been adapted into a movie that has already been seen as an Oscar contender for next year.
Here's a 4 minute podcast with the BBC reporting about the movie and a first listen to the stunningly beautiful soundtrack by Nick Cave! Exciting!!
